Experimental Designs
Behind the Bigger Gulp
This project was presented in California State University of Long Beach's 2014 Senior Graphic Design Show, called Our Show. The theme and subject of the show was "metal". 24 students designed new work stemmed from the idea of how the subject metal can be interpreted or incorporated into a design.

This metal project stemmed from the idea of soda cans and how soda has changed the lives of many Americans. According to statistics Texas is the number one state of soda consumption. With our freedom of choice and desire to want more, the mass production of soda cans and 7-eleven's self serve beverage station has helped change peoples lives for the worst. Over consumption and convenience of soda causes many people health issues. This project is meant to visually bring forth a major issue in hopes to inform and educate people into making better decisions.
I have a strong passion for designing impactful info-graphics in relation to health or the environment.

I took the same expectations from Project #1 | Magnetic Sand and found a way to incorporate it into a project in which the viewer can interact with the process. The magnet and sand experiment is meant to leave one with an impactful message presented in a magical yet simple way.
How I interpreted our word metal is presented in my choice of material used to get my message across. The sand on the bottom represents the millions of people in the world, and as it slides across the poster the fine iron partials within the sand attract to the magnets attached to the back. This represents, as Malcolm Gladwell would put it, the outliers. You don't have to be a genius or born into luck to stand out, what you need is interest, passion, and practice. This is my philosophy and way of life.
